Every canvas is a conversation between my history and our collective future.
My art begins in a deeply personal place—as a method of healing from past trauma and as a sacred act of keeping my family's memory and history alive. Their stories are the bedrock of my inspiration, and I tell them through the visual language of social, political, and cultural commentary.
I intentionally choose the bright, contrasted color palettes of the 70s and 80s. This retro theme is a bridge, connecting the lessons of the past to the urgent issues of today. The colors are bold because the message is vital. My ultimate purpose is to spark a connection, to invoke a feeling that makes you pause and consider your own place in the story. Change is not ignited by armies, but by individuals connecting with one another. If my work can create that moment of connection for even one person, it has all been worth it.
